EGR Unplugging question

Can the CEL code be cleared with a standard OBD II scanner when unplugging the EGR?

Yes, should be able to. I've done this with a cheap one from Harbor Freight. No problem. It will come back though if left unplugged. However, you can plug it back in, clear the code and be back to "normal".
