anyone used a manual hub conversion?
looking at the dyna trac or warn front hub conversion. any body done it? pros? cons? does the savings in fuel mileage justify the cost?

Fuel savings will be minimal. Where the savings come in is shutting down the rotational mass up front. Wear on those components will be minimal in the future. Steering will be lighter also. My friend went with the Dynalocs but the Warns are about $400 cheaper and stick out 3/4" more.

My dad and I put a Spyn Tec kit on his 07 SRW 1 ton. He likes his a lot. I'm currently saving for one for my '10. Danderson is right, you will get a little better mileage but the real benefit is you are getting rid of the unit bearings which should never have been installed from the factory. The Spyn Tec does stick out further than the Dynatrac but the ST is a lot cheaper and to me it's better because you have better bearing separation. Yukon Gear makes a kit also.
