Anyone Else Not Get Much MPG Gain After Deletes?

I had my truck for a couple thousand highway miles before I deleted. During that time every tank of fuel was hand calculated between 15.9 and 16.1. Then I deleted and every time I have hand calculated a tank of highway miles, I am right at 16. I assume I wasn't doing much regen with all the highway running I was doing and essentially no city driving or idling but thought I might get some extra from the tuner and EGR delete, 4th injection event being turned off, etc. It has been hotter lately but the driving across all tanks has been pretty much the same. I have an 11 and wonder if that makes any difference because I am definitely not picking up the 4 mpg I see a lot of 07.5 and 08 people posting.

I have to be honest, my truck got about as good of mileage before the deletes (with EGR unplugged) as it does now. I am trying it right now on #2, seems like I may be getting SLIGHTLY better mileage than 0 or 1.

Another thing that can rob MPG, especially on a new truck is loose intercooler hose clamps. 7/16" deep socket will do the job.
Unless they changed all that on the 11 too.

Tubes going from the turbo to the intercooler and from the intercooler to the intake horn. 11mm deep socket will be needed.

also, you will get the gains if you do the full deletes, not just an EGR unplug. with the dpf etc still installed, you are restricting the exhaust and not allowing the engine to exhale very well.

I did deletes, but left the egr valave per Smartys instructions. They said the EGR valve was disabled automatically. Running Smarty Jr ME.

So you say take it off and I will see an increase?

I fully deleted mine, EGR is off and everything. Only thing still in my exhaust stream is stock muffler.

I have my Smarty Jr Beta set to SW3 and Timing 4.

My truck averages around the 18-21mpg range. pre delete I was 14-16mpg. I really impressed with fuel economy vs coming from a near mechanical 5.9L
