Which Air Intake?

I am looking at getting an AEM workhorse for an 07 6.7. Anybody recommend anything else? K&N, AFE, S&B ?

Do not have a 6.7, but I would choose the AFE MegaCannon.

AEM, IMO, is not worth the money I spent, thin wall tubing that is less than 4" ID, filter box is cheap/flimsy/slotted screw holes so it can be beat to fit. And the huge air filter that came with it, athough looks impressive, all but cancelled out my turbo whine, hence the 4510.

I have one of those K&N FIPK units, dealer installed by previous owner, so there's no warranty issue. BUT...I've always worried about it's cummulative efficiency, which is not to spec.

And, in summer on a hot day, the power just goes away because that thing sucks a lot of HOT underhood air.

Luckily, I got the OEM parts when I bought the truck...so the original box is getting converted back to PSM's cold air unit, with the cool hose and an aFe Pro-guard 7 element which does meet the necessary 99.5% cummulative efficiency. Best of three worlds (flow-cold-filtration).

The AEM Workhorse has worked very well for me. Fits and flows very well. Filter reminder never sucks down now and it did every time with the stock air box and also with the Brute Force intake. With the silencer ring gone, the truck sounds like an F16 on take-off.

I have read, on this forum there are issues with using the K&N type filters or floss filters that are oiled, the AEM Intakes have always been my favorite type of intakes due to their design and how well they fit together. Does the AEM Workhorse have (it looks like it) that type of filter and does it cause issues with dust getting inside the intake/engine? I am looking for an intake for my truck and since it is under warranty I will have to remove the intake and put the stock one back on when I bring her in for service, is it difficult to remove and put the stock unit back in?

i have never found any dirt or dust whatsoever on the inside of my intake tube. all aem filters are dry, no oil filters, and i have never removed mine when taking my truck in for a warranty issue.

I have a 2007 Ram with the 5.9 diesel, will the 2006 AEM workhorse work on it? They only list a 2007.5 model for the 6.7.
