4" Delete vs 5" system
4" Delete vs 5" system
I'm shopping for some parts and looking for some opinions. What are the performance and sound differances between cat/dpf delete pipe and a full 5" straight pipe system? Thanks!
When I first did my deletes I went with just the pipe and left the muffler and cat inplace, it was ok not much louder than stock in my opinion, after about 35k miles I decided to go 5" turbo back, man what a difference!!!!
, Its loud but not nasty, I get some bad drone about 67 mph, but I love it anyway. My neighbors dont like me very much anymore!!!!

5" on my '11 sounded great!
Drone at around 2200 rpms, but nice and deep other wise.
Now that my 2nd gen swap is complete, its a whole different world from the deleted 6.7 sound. Its like a 24v on steroids.

I'm very happy with my diamond eye 5" tbe no muffler it's not loud in the cab but I do know its there when I'm cruising around 2000 rpm's. My neighbor has an 06 5.9 with a 4"tbe and he's come over to let me know that he's going to upgrade now that I have a better sounding truck.
I just did a downpipe & DPF replacement with 4" diamond eye leaving the stock muffler in place, won't pass inspection w/o a muffler. Good deep sound that starts to drone around 2000 rpm. Since I still have the factory turbo, the 5" would be overkill for exhaust flow.
