Xillarader is Visible!

To any of you that have or are contemplating buying the Xillarader Rce, this module is visible to the dealer!
I removed the complete system harness and module before going in to the dealership yesterday, for a tranny TSB, (hunting between 1st and 2nd).
When I collected the truck the Service advisor told me to be "carefull" as I had a programmer on the truck that could void my warranty.
I do not know how this was detected, I just paid my $100.00 deductible for a complete tranny service and new valve?......

So Beware it seems they can see it!!!!!
BTW, Kudo's to Addy 's Harbour Dodge of Myrtle Beach.
'Haven't let me down yet.

Are you sure he wasn't bluffing you? He probably assumed from the other mods you have that you had a box. I have a really good dealer I go to and I asked the service manager about detecting boxes. He told me the only way to know for sure is to pull the head and check the crown of the piston. Any time I go there for work, they come out and see what I have done to it since the last time.

Good point... They just look at my truck and know!!!! IF they see guages they are goona automatically assume...

I took my 05 in with the quad and bullydog and removed them in the gas station parking lot acrost the street and they warrantied the 3 shot injectors???

I am pretty sure quad doesn't advertise saying that it's not traceable though...

I was once told that even if the box is not detectable, they will suspect something if the computer has some readings that are out of range. The example I was given was high MPG readings, with the Quad, the overhead MPG can read as high as 28MPG. There may be other things that may be out of range as well.

I don't know what is actually stored on the computer, so I don't know if it's true.

The person who told me works at a Dodge dealer and also owned a CTD. He said they may not know what was on, but they will know something was changed.

I am under the impression the Quad is installed downstream of the ECM and just alters the signal going from it to the engine.

If this is the case I don't see how any readings are visible as the computer assumes it's commands were followed.

If you get a code I can see how that would be stored, but codes can still be erased as far as I know.

Quad has stated many times in this forum that his box is undetectable by the dealer.

I have not heard of anyone having their warranty canceled due to a Quad product.

If someone has additional information, please chime in.

It is easy for someone to say you have done something!

The fact that he said you had a "programmer" installed should have tipped you off that he was clueless!!!!

Next time, tell them you did not. If they argue tell them something is fishy and you want to see the proof yourself.

They have to show you if you ask. Or they are lying!

My dealer told me the samething. He said if its a part that needs to be warrantied and ordered through DC (injectors, tranny replacements, etc.) that they download parameters from your truck that is 3 pages long. It tells everything you can imagine I guess according to my dealer. Anything out of stock reading will throw a big red flag up of having a performance tuner/programmer on. So I guess they can dig very deep if the dealer/DC wanted to.

What you guys don't understand is that we have these same tools that pull these same parameters so we can see what DC sees!

There is a law that was passed so that most of the stuff on the vehicle cannot be 100% proprietary so that small shops can also work on them and the dealerships do not have a monopoly.

Dealerships want to scare everyone and there is nothing to be scared of. If you think your dealer is going to be a pain then switch dealers. I don't care if you never touch your truck these are the same dealers that will claim abuse, lack of maintenance or any other thing that is stated in your LIMITED WARRANTY you got with your truck.

They can void a warranty anytime if they want and want to fight it.

If it ever gets ugly, especially with our products installed simply ask for it in writing and then get in touch with me and I will do what I can to help you.

Most places do not like to put "blame" in writing unless they can physically hold the cause in their hands! Everything else is speculation. Not many lawsuits are won based on speculation.

He might have been over his 3/36 warranty. There is a 100$ deductible over the base warranty

06's only have the 3/36 warranty.
He might have an extended warranty with a deductible if he is out.

My 06 has 54K on it now but I have an 8/80 extended with a $100 deduct..

As I understand it, when you install a performance enhanser that sits between the computer and it's sensors, it's invisable to the computer. One small item that most folks forget is that even if you pull the wiring harness, you still had to unplug it from it's sensors and reinstall the factory plug back into the sensor. When you do that right before you take it in, it's easily seen. If your truck is like mine, I wouldn't try to eat my dinner off the engine, it's not that clean. Even a half asleep tech would be able to see the dust knocked off the plugs, indicating they may have been unplugged. After that, a little phishing at checkout and you might have a problem the next time.

That is true Quad.

Too bad the new lifetime warranty does not apply to the diesels.
Could you imagine turning over 500,000 and still having a powertrain warranty.
