Ne one know of a good writeup on a boost elbow? any help would be great, just tryin to find out where I put it and what kind of tools I need.

 

I was under the impression that all 2003-2004 had a boost elbow installed by factory?
Starting in 2004.5(when emission CAT was added) they went to an electronic wastegate like on my factory turbo. I had to install a boost elbow to allow manual setting for boost level instead of the factory electronic control.

I do not think you need anything except adjusting the elbow to allow higher boost. You may need to add some type of boost fooler so the ECM will not know about this raised level and go into a limp mode for over boost. I used the TST to do my boost fooling.

Hopefully someone with a 2004 will clarify for you with what may have worked for them.

 

Correct the '03-'04 have a Boost elbow on the Turbo...

If you are looking for added Boost, Get an Adjustable Boost Elbow and a Boost Fooler or a Tuner Box that Boost Fools...



Take out the 1 on the Turbo,


put the new 1 in... Pair of pliers, 7/16" or 1/2 " wrench, small hose clamp

 

I have a Van Aaken C3.2 and was told it boost fools. With that being said I could just clamp down the hose to the wastegate to build more boost then?
