Funny stuff. I'll always have something interesting to think about if and when I'm passing thru mercer county. You better believe I'll have the windows rolled down and no tunes blaring! =]

Good point. I've also like tinted windows because they are a security feature. For example...If a woman is out driving late at night, tinted windows keep possible stalkers and carjackers from identifying who is in the vehicle and if they are alone.

If you are stopped by a police officer, there is a simple solution....roll down the front windows and turn on the interior lights. I can guarantee you if you do this, you will get little or no harrassment for tinted windows. This way you are showing them that there is no threat.

Another benefit most people don't realize is that the windows become more shatter resistant when they are tinted. If a tinted window is broken, the glass fragments usually stay attached to the window film, so clean-up is very easy.

i had my sides tinted to the legal limit in utah 50% but if i got pulled over for it they cant do nothin bout it. thats the reason i didnt go darker, cause theres a cop around here that is a PITA about everything to do with inspection laws.

In the past the limit was 50% in Ohio and I had 20%. Whenever I got pulled over I just rolled both windows all the way down....makes it a non-issue.....

Ten8, thanks for the support. I agree with having tint in hot areas, but it doesn't have to be dark to work. My truck has illegal tint on the front windows. It is very light with a slight reflective on it. You can see my face and eyes so you know that I see you and am not going to pull out in front of you. When a car is pulling out and all you can see is a black window you have no idea what the driver is doing...like dialing a cell phone, yelling at the kids in the back seat, or you name it.

A reflective tint is more effective than a dark tint. Look at office buildings. Touch your 20% window in the direct sunlight and see how hot it gets. It's a solar collector. Some of that heat convects and radiates into the truck. A reflective window reflects solar radiation more effectively.

Now, I wonder if these trucks come with reflective tinted glass like many cars do these days. If not I will install the same as I have now. It is so much more comfortable to have it when the summer sun is trying to roast my left arm.

The reason for all these smog laws, etc. is because this state is so crowded. 30,000,000 people producing smog. I remember having my lungs hurt on the high school practice football field. You couldn't get a deep breath. It's not as bad now. Of course, I got out of L.A. We do pay a price for the good weather.

RamDan03,Your right on the money. Roll all windows down when being stopped for security reasons if you want to be on your way soon. I get seached all the time working for a HVAC co. going in and out of places like airports ,military bases drug co.'s,weapons factory's. Just leave those hands up on the wheel too. If we don't like whats going on ,the person stopping us is usally the wrong one to make it difficult for ! Never had any comments about my tinting ,they may have never got a chance to see it up close. My 2 cents
