I don't have an exhaust brake, or I may feel different but so far the only use I have for high idle is when I jump start someone.

Can someone explain to me what high idle your referring to. My stock 04.5 (48re) will go to high idle in the winter with out me touching anything, as soon as I put my foot on the brake, it goes back down to low idle. Are you guys talking about the manually operated high idle that is controlled from the steering wheel buttons? If so, will Smarty Jr. to this as well? Sorry to HighJack.

Which plug on the ecm has the pin22?The one closest to the front of the motor or rear?I've had the pin for 8 months and this thread just reminded me I need to do it.

It is the one towards the rear of the engine close to the firewall. I do have a written instructions with pics saved. I can email it to anyone that needs it.

His instructions are very good, it's simple to do but it's quite confusing to just hear "Ground pin 22 in the ECM". As far as getting the high idle off I just turn off cruise control.

From what you are saying, you have a problem. All the symptoms you are stating are odd, definitely not caused by the Smarty, at least not that I have ever heard.

That doesn't sound right either. On mine I just have to lightly tap the brake and it shuts off the high idle instantly.

Strange, but the '03 with manual transmissions doesn't have the high idle feature.
