Will Smarty enable high idle function on ECM?

Hey all. I wasn't able to find anything through searches, but I am wanting to enable high idle on my 05. I am about to order the cummins pigtail for grounding pin 22 to allow the high idle to function on my 6-speed, but I want to make sure the smarty will enable high idle or not. I can't stand the local dealers and really don't want to take it to any of them. I have smarty beta 4.4. Any help would be appreciated.

When I got my Smarty and installed it first thing I tried was the high idle. It worked without me having to do anything to my 04.5. Never did have to ground anything. If you already have Smarty and its not working, you'll need to ground it.

On 6-speed trucks you MUST ground pin 22 which prevents the issue of the clutch switch saftey override on the 6-speeds. Tons of guys on here can get high idle enabled on their 6-speeds by just getting the cummins pig-tail that grounds pin 22 AND having the dealer enable high-idle in the ECM. BUT, if you have an auto and NO programmer (that offers high idle enabling) you still have to go to the dealer for them to flash the ECM for high idle. SO, what i am getting at is can you still get high idle from the smarty once you ground pin 22 on 6-speed trucks?

works like a champ...

idle control from stock to 1500 rpms.. if you have an exhaust brake, it can remain on up to 1100 rpm. takes a 40* motor to 170* in 3 minutes......

The smarty high idle is nothing but annoying to me this time of year, 70+ degrees and the high idle kicks on! Maybe its just a small bug with the TNT because my Bully Dog never did this. I just love the power to much to take it off.

if you ground pin 22, what ways does it effect the clutch safety switch?

From what I read, depressing the clutch will not deactivate the high idle, only the brake will. Not a big deal really.

Thanks for all the replies! My local cummins dealer has 6 of the pig-tails in stock...going to pick one up in an hour.

It takes a ton of pressure on the brake and a few seconds. Not just a little tap. Also putting it in gear and letting out the clutch a little does the trick, I normally just put in 5th and very very lightly release the clutch and no more high idle.

The Smarty does enable the manual high idle option in the PCM firmware flash as the Mads website states.

It works fine on my 04.5 6 speed manual truck with pin 22 of the ECM grounded.

Since my BD exhaust brake deactivates my cruise control when turned on by design,
I can't manually idle up with the cruise and exhaust brake on.. Very minor inconvenience..
