I THOUGHT it was because Chrystler had not released the software, but maybe someone in the know will chime in.

The Bosch stand alone has been available for a few years. I had a very serious look at the system.
It is an extremely expensive proposition.
There is no base tune to get you running and the owners manual is well over 900 pages....Banks runs the system on the Duramax race truck and it took the Banks team and some Bosch engineers a few days just to start the truck!

If the engineers that build the system and some of the brightest diesel heads around couldn't start the truck it isn't for you or me. Not to mention that you and me don't get to have Bosch engineers help with the install!

There is another cost effective stand alone system being developed that will come with a base tune and will be fairly inexpensive. It will support 6-7000rpm alright, but none of this will come easy...Or cheap!

Most of the GM guys successfully running EFI Live are running with tunes custom built that are bought and then tweaked. There is nothing simple or straightforward about EFI Live....Expect to break motors figuring it out.
Many of the top GM guys are running PPE...Should tell you something.

Until Marco builds programs for a stand alone I'll be sticking with the latest Smarty.

Id like it alot better if it was about 1500.00 rathere than 5k, Im going to stick with the smarty, for now, I would like to have the rpms an im building a motor to handle that, but thats a cost i wasnt including.

the D/C software is proprietary to them which is why you won't see any EFI live type systems available for the Cummins.

The Bosch programmer is all that and then some but, it's not a programmer we all will have. Those that can afford to purchase one will be able to program trucks but, to change the program, you'll have to return to that dealer/shop every time and you can bet there will be a nominal fee for doing it. I know of several shops that have it right now and will likely see something from it in the coming year.
