You can leave the Edge Ez on just us it sparingly. That is the point of stacking. A programmer does one thing and a box that does another working together. The 04.5 and up trucks are the ones notorious for injector issues. That is because they come from the factory running higher rail pressure than the 03-04 trucks do. Get a rail pressure gauge and don't go over 17,000 psi cruising down the road. Better yet just turn the EZ up on rare occasions.

By the way, fill out your signature so we can see what you have.

To the guys that do not have a rail pressure gauge.. Get one! Not only is it an excellent tool for tuning your truck, but you will be able to watch your rail pressure and if you notice it's high you can back off on your settings. Hopefully before any damage is done.

I run an EZ on both trucks we have, and it's almost always on the lower setings. Just turn it up when you NEED it..

I've never had an injector failure. When the injectors in my wifes truck went back to DonM to become Flux 2's, the truck ran flawlessly, had about 30,000 miles on it, and I thought there wouldn't be a single issue with them. 1 Injector was marginal at best, the other 5 were fine. That truck never ran anything but a Smarty and the EZ (mostly on level 1)

there's no point to replacing it with something that doesn't add pressure. bad idea to add more timing, as double stacking timing can be bad, and that only leaves duration. that's the reason that so many people use a pressure box in combination with a programmer, that does timing and duration.

How heavy were you pulling? I will occasionally pull my ski boat over Mt. Hood. It's about 5K.

Thanks for the replies Chad and Spooler. This is good info. I'm only on my second tank of fuel running the EZ. I wanted to see if there was a MPG increase with it on each level. At least I'm getting some responses on this site. Over on CF, I got 1 reply.

Thanks again, Kevin

lol. about 20-30k. I was pulling a D5 with rippers, brush rake, 100+ gallons of fuel, along with tools (compressor, tool boxes, ect) on a 40ft goose-neck. I pulled that load probably twice a week for about four months, before that I ran the EZ for 2yrs.

The EZ is a great box, but not to be left on lvl3 all the time, I was abusing it.

AAHHH! Got it. I don't leave it on 3, but there is no "off" switch, so I'll leave it on 1.

The pressure box really helps to "fill in" the bottom end. It helps to get the turbo spooled up a little quicker. Even though the injectors will crack either the body or the nozzle stock, the likelihood of this happening definitely increases when you add pressure in there. A duration only box might be an option for you in a stack. If you don't have a turbo upgrade you will definitely run hot.
