Who Has A K&N Intake Kit?
I am curious who has the 57-1532 intake kit. What do you think of it?
I am looking for input on how good the kit itself it made, like the heat shield, the intake tube, and the overall fit and finish of the kit. Any problems or info?
I am not interested in the filter, at all. I am not looking for answers like, "Their filters are junk"....cause I know they are poorly made.
I have the chance to buy an intake kit, for VERY cheap. My plan would be to replaced the stock filter (RC-4780) with an Amsoil Ea Series cone filter, either the EAAU-4090, EAAU-4091, or the EAAU4095.
I had an K&N FIPK kit on my 2004 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 with the 4.7L V8, and thought it was a very well built and constructed kit.
Thanks for any and all info!

I have the FIPK on mine and replaced the filter with a 4095 and it has worked flawlessly since I installed it, it took about 30 min to install. My only wish would be that the tube was bigger.
What size is the tube, 4"?
Also, what is that little crankcase-like breather (mounted on the heat sheild)I see on various pictures of this intake kit?
Do you think a larger filter, that the 4095, can fit into the area within the heat shield?
Anyway, I really did not like how the alternator bracket fit on my FIPK and I think the heat shield could be supported a little better, but all together a pretty good set-up.

I dont know why everyone cuts down on the K&N filters. I have found that keeping it correctly maintained has shown on my oil samples to be more than adequate for filtration. I dont want to start the whole K&N is junk debate, but a couple of years ago, it was the best and nothing else came close.

Lots of AFE oil filters on these trucks. Its a oiled filter.Never have seen or fault oil in my intake tube or on turbo fins. Its in how MUCH oil you put on the filters.A little goes a long way.
Its all in how you maintain your set-up. Everything I have owned from ATV's, cars, trucks etc. have always got the K&N and none of them blew up or spontaneously combusted.

Since all of the K&N's are such junk, I will give out my address and I will pay postage to have them mailed to me. I will use them.
