Wheres the best place to tap into lighting power for gauges?

Where's the best place to tap into the wiring for the gauge lights. I'm thinking past the cluster dimmer, that would allow them to work off the same circuit and be controlled by that dimer. Anyone that has done it this way I'd like to hear the easiest way to do it.

Thanks

If the 06 is the same as my 04
I tapped in behind the head light switch on the instrument wire so my gauges dim

Pop out the light switch plate. On my 04 the dimmer wire is on the bottom row of wires closest to the steering column, i would think it is the same on the newer ones as well. Good luck.

That is the best way to do it and you will have total control of all your lights.

if you're installing your gauges in your center console when up pull out the face plate there is a wire connection for an optional light that only work when the headlights are turned on which easily supplys a ground and your +12v lighting i then tapped the lighter circuit for the +12vit made it pretty easy
