Best place to tap into dash light circuit for gauges?

Im installing pillar gauges and looking for the easiest wire to connect the gauge lights to. I want to have the dimmer control, just like the dash lights. If you know the location or color of the easiest wire, please share. Just thought I'd ask before I start tearing apart the dash. Thanks.

I had just put in an aftermarket stereo, so I used the illumination wire that used to go to the factory radio.

Everybody has there own method, and nobody is wrong. I just find the fuse in the fuse boxe for the lights. Pop out the fuse and find out which side is the fused side and then run the wire there. They make small tabs that you put on the leg of the fuse, plug it in, and it gives you a terminal to hook too.

In the 91 it's right side of fuse 14 ( 3 AMP )

I figured I wouldnt need the ashtray light anymore so I chopped it and wired in the gauge lights. Just take out the screws inside of the ashtray, and pull out the light. Easy as pie.
