Where to find a replacement Hobbs switch for MITUSA pump?
Where to find a replacement Hobbs switch for MITUSA pump?
Hey guys, I'm pretty sure my Hobbs switch is toast due to corrosion or perhaps time...it's seen about 100k miles in some pretty corrosive conditions. The only problem is I don't believe the MITUSA systems have been sold in some time, and have no idea what specs, type , or really much about what a hobbs switch is. If anyone can point me in the right direction of where and what type to order as a replacement, I would be quite grateful! Thanks in advance.
Hobbs switches are generally pretty universal and can be easily had.
Take yours to your local Napa auto parts and they should fix you up.
There are generally "open" "closed" and ones that are adjustable as I recall.
As far as operation, they are a simple high pressure switch activated at a pre-set psi. When the pressure limit is reached, the switch opens (or closes as the case may be).

Thanks for the response Soulezoo. I actually was just about to post as I've found the answer. For anyone else looking to replace the switch on their Mitusa, I've done your work for you - here you go - it's a NC - normally closed/opens at 10psi switch - part number 76578-10-01 . Hope that helps someone down the road. Big thanks to Tim Barber for pointing me in the right direction.
