Well I pulled the trigger on a new suspension system. I bought some 2.5 kings along with all the rest of the stuff from thuren. I am really happy with everything so far. The only problem I am having is Finding someone with the equipment to fill my shocks with 200 psi of Nitrogen. Any suggestions??? I am just itching to drive this thing. please help. Thanks

I went to a welding supply store. I am going to get my own tank w/regulator so that I can do it myself.

I picked up most of my stuff from polyperformance.com, it all works well.

I picked up a filled tank localy from a airgas store, about 40. If I were to do it again, think I would pick up a regluator from the local shop also, may be cheaper. I did not check on the price though.

If I were to take it all off roading I would think about the power tank N2/CO2 Regulator. It has good gauge protection, dont knock the bottle over (hmmm). They are pricey though.

Scuba shop might be able to though if they use nitrox not all use it. The nitrox mix is adjustable (%nitro and air)but not sure how they mix it. So not sure if they can do pure nitro or not and may only be able to do it off the truck. A welding supply place can sell you the stuff you need. However the regulator is fairly expensive like 200.00(at least that is what I was quoted), gas is relatively cheap. You can try an offroad shop or an offroad buggy builder if there is one near you. A race shop that really races (not drag racing but road racing). You can also try a motorcycle shop. However every motorcycle shop I called said they couldnt do it while the shocks were on the vehicle as the truck wouldnt fit where it needed to go and their equip was not portable. I found an offroad shop that did it but they were out of gas for several weeks. Kept calling around and finally found a performance shop that road races and they had a portable unit. Depending on your shock mount taking them off the truck may not be that big of a deal but on mine I have to remove the springs which I really didnt want to do.

Nitrox is oxygen enriched air, no nitrogen added, 25 years of diving and i've never seen a nitrogen bottle in a dive shop.

Best bet is to buy a nitrogen reg. from a local welding or AC supply store and get you own cylinder.

I agree... get your own bottle. If you ever need to top them off, you are going to hate having to always drive to a shop to have the shocks filled, plus you can play around with the pressures a bit then.

Just remember when you fill them that the shocks have to be extended all the way out....

Boy do I feel stupid Of course you are absolutely correct and I should know better as I dive occassionally where is that darn PADI book now. Better read it again before I go next.

Most motorcycle shops will have Nitrogen on tap. I've filled shocks at R&S on Lomas and Bobby J's on Menaul. Haven't tried anyone on the Westside yet.
