wheels

right now i have 315/70/17 bfg's, i like the tire size and don't want to lift the truck due to towing. question is i have heard about aluminum rims breaking and shearing lugs when putting loads of power down, i'd prefer steel rims, wagon wheel D-hole type like the daytonas, but i have not been able to find them or any like it for the 17" size. i am trying to keep the truck gray and black only, hate chrome!!! any wheel suggestions or links to sites? black wheels!!!

get some used stock steel wheels, have them sand blasted and powdercoated black.

Like these? Summit racing has both 17x8 and 17x9 wheels in black for pretty cheap. The 17x8 with 4.5 back space are 70.00. Cragar and U.S wheel both have the D hole wheels.

Those wheels are on the summit racing website. I don't know how to post links so I can't help you there.

my friend has sheared lugs and broke two sets of wheels on a 2003 QC LB 4x4 6spd with only a cold air and an edge tuner, so i have been avoiding them.

There's basically 2 kinds of aluminum/alloy wheels: cast and forged. Cast are relatively weak. I would never run cast wheels on a HD pickup. If you do and they break, you have nobody to blame but yourself. Well made forged aluminum wheels are strong. Just look at the weight ratings.
