Whats The Isolator Secret?
I just installed my gauges tonight everything went awesome except the isolator for fuel pressure. The isolator my local shop sold me has a bled screw on one side. I cant get any reading above four pounds but i know my setup is full of air on the gauge side how do i bleed it?

You have to fill the gage side of the isolator with anti freeze or low temp windshield washer fluid. You can suck it in like a straw or use a syringe like one of those marinade injectors.
Where do you have the connection made on the engine, 4 psi may be all you are seeing if the filter is dirty. I see you have a newer truck but it could still be dirty.

Fuel to the gauge! I always got the isolators to work...but the wear out/fail yearly it seems.
So I said heck with it...and installed a small balve line in the engine bay...barley cracked it...and run fuel to the gauge. Works like a charm.

make sure you are not using the 1/8" plastic line to the gauge. Change it out for the 1/8" copper tubing or better yet use stainless braided hose.
With the 1/8" stuff you don't need to fill the line with antifreeze , just the isolator. With the braided line you'll want to fill it the best you can with antifreeze.
Mount the isolator with the gauge side facing up.
Bleed the fuel side with the engine running.
Once the gauge side is connected don't try and bleed it unless the engine is shut off.
I've had better luck with the mallory isolators than the chrome ones you get with most places.

i bought an ice maker needle valve, and just cracked it. straight to the gauge.
if it does leak, i will get a small mess until i pull over, open the hood, and shut the valve(which is mounted right at the abs module, easy access)

I also ran fuel right into the gauge on my '01, but when ordering the new gauges Dieselmanor told me that it is illegal to run inside with fuel and that there are small spikes and surges in the fuel pressure for brief seconds and that the isolator removes them before sending to the gauge. He said that eventhought the direct run worked fine for me, overtime it would wear out the gauge diaphrams. I had no problems getting isolator to work.

To fill the antifreeze line I use gravity. Fill the line with water ( suck fresh water to fill line.Transfer to a mix of antifreeze 50/50 snapple bottle.
Have assistant (12 year son) hold bottle higher than gauge location.
Let the water siphon antifreeze out of the snapple bottle when all air is out of line , attach to isolator. then to gauge.
