Flux 2.5's or 2.8's, a Floor IT stage 2, Sportsman Springs, Smarty on Kill, MP-8 on 50%, GDP or Fass to 20-30 psi, and a 66 turbo or an A5k will get r' done.

No problem. That would be the budget route...but effective.

I do admit...more money spent equals more enjoyment 24-7...but if you just want to stage a boost launched and WOT a 1/4...you will easily hit 12's with that combo.

Probably even skimp on the studs if you wastegate the turbo correctly...

But...for the same reason desertchecker is happy right now...

Just like "there is no replacement for displacement"...there "is nothing like good twins"...for both fuel and air!

With my '04.5 I ran 12.89 @ 105mph on stock sticks and CP3. All I had was a lift pump (rasp), trans (DTT), studs, BDDL, TST, and a stock/S400 set of twins. With Flux 3's and a Floor-it stage 2 pump I went 12.4's on the brakes bracket racing (102mph) and 109mph later bouncing off of the speed limiter just past 1000'.

let me get this straight, the floor it cp3's are moded stockers as well?

what kind of problems would be caused by running 20psi w/ a single cp3? sorry for the dumb questions, im just new to turbo's and diesel fuel system's all togther as i havent had first hand experience w/ these areas before.

so dual stock cp3's would be the best way to do it. a stg.2 (modded stocker) would work but no guarantees for how long w/o issues?

so where would i start, im assuming w/ a fass, gdp, raptor, or airdog then do the turbo setup single or twins then add the cp3 setup?

then if needed, add another fueling box. when all that is said and done then it would be time to decide on what injectors would work best for me.

now roughly how much boost would i be looking at running? i guess that would depend opon the turbo setup huh. if im at or above 50psi it would be a good idea to add studs correct? or would there be other reasons to add studs before i even get close to 50psi?

sorry for all the questions. i dont expect others to tell me exactly how to build a 12 sec. truck. i have done a good bit of searching and after being pointed in the right direction i will be able to search some more on some specific ideas. i am not one to look for the cheapest route because i know you get what you pay for and you also have to pay to play, i just dont want to waste alot of $$ and end up w/ alot of leftover parts when i could research and do it right for the most part the first time. i have spent a ton of $$ over the past 15 years in another field of drag racing and have learned and done everything first hand by myself, paid my dues and after several projects and tens of thousands of dollars and years and years of testing and tunning, trial and error it finally started paying off. now i have gotten out of that and into diesel performance and am starting from scratch all over again, but im not as young as i used to be and i feel alot older than i am so i dont mind asking for help this time around and i sure do appreciate the help and hope you guys dont mind

in order of priority

Need a transmission built by a reputable HTS, Goerand

a fuel system Fass , GDP, etc.

quality set of head studs

a single HTT turbo 62/71/13ss or 64/71/13ss should do it & you can always also use either one on top as a secondary turbo in a twin set if you choose to go that route later.

dual cp3s by PPE work great proven to be very reliable & with a nice fuel pump system you should never have problems with draining the rail system

go run it down the track and hit the dyno see what you got

injectors will follow soon

you can possibly hit 12s with stock cp3 & injectors but its not an easy task seems like all these trucks perform a little different then others, with the same mods my truck with a bullydog and TST stack would just drain the rail too easy with lower settings on TST running stock injectors & stock cp3.

give the stock cp3 a try , it wont hurt to see how far it will go until you hit the wall, dont worry it will happen !

same with the injectors give the stockers a try see how far they get you before you need to get some fluxs injectors.

I ran in the 13's with JUST a Smarty and 64/71/13 turbo(48psi of boost) and of course a South bend con fe clutch. IF my truck was a auto it would have been close to 12sec range. I guess the rule of thumb is the same truck with the same mods will be about 1-1.5 sec faster than a hand shaker

If your truck was built before June 2006 you can use a TST. The Smarty/TST stack will get you into the 12's easily with stock sticks and a stock CP3. Then you just need supporting mods like a trans, fuel system, and turbo(s).

If you're stuck with an '06.5 like me you can't run a TST, but a set of Flux 2's will make up for it nicely.

The GDP has worked awesome for me. You will get mixed opinions on the amount of psi you should set it at, but my Walbro is set at 18 and that's about 20% or so of it's capability. I have also seen guys set them up with an in cab switch to increase pressure on the fly. Sweet pump.
