Ive read to do this reliably, the cooling system can only withstand around 450-500 hp. With 450 hp you can pull pretty much any legal weight at a legal speed so more than that would just be over kill.

Now Mark, you should be careful, you put a 800 hp Cummins in front of that trailer and you might yank the hitch right off the trailer

From what I've heard, in the real world, no.

They say EGT's and water temps become a problem at 500+.

With the right set of twins I would think you could, maybe a new cam to help spool the twin if they are big.

I agree with smokey, 425-500 and you will have water temp problems.

IMO, if you where makin 800 on NO2 and had your twins streached to the max you could do it. With a good set of sticks, twins and cp3(s) you could be at the limit of your cooling system pretty quick.

Will, you are part of the problem
you don't seem to have any trouble spooling that big sps66 on your G56 truck, so it makes me think I can put big twins on and drive them with out problems????
yes, no???

I read an article in Hot Rod or someplace about a Dodge (this was a while back, a year or 2) with twins that would run in the 12's, and the only thing you had to do to make it more streetable would be to replace the injectors. The article was saying that for insurance they put studs instead of head bolts. It was one of the first article I read, and got me interested in diesels.
I've read lately that 450 HP is about the max for towing too.

I think RCcox did around 800 on the artic air twins. They would be a great set for pulling arund 450 hp and with the right tuning you can get lots of power out of them.

You can bet yours truely will have a set of twins, but I dont tow THAT heavy. The most I have put BEHIND (not gross) my truck with the SPS66 16-18K.

IMO (and this is just opinion) if you ran a 62 of your choice and the right S400 you would have an awsome set of "do it all" twins. But I dont think it would support 800 hp on fuel very well or for very long. BUT thats where NO2 comes in. I THINK you could do 650-700 with those twins and be ok, then run a 100-150 shot of nitrous.

If you got any questions about my set up and towin I will be glad to help in any way. If you need I can send you my # via pm.

I am just kinda playing around right now..trying to learn a little more about turbos/tuning
I keep thinking about going to II and having them build me some big boarderline twins since they are only 20mins from my house.

I know 800hp is a TON of HP and that is not my goal...yet but why not shoot for the stars
seriously tho I would like big reliable power more then huge unreliable power....
