What size tires on a dually with leveling kit?

I am going to get a 3" leveling kit and a set of air bags shortly and Im going to have to put a new set of tires on before long....Currently I am running 265 75 17 Discover Cooper STT's...Im wanting something bigger like a 285 or possibly a 315? Any suggestions..... I know i will have to get a 2' spacer for the rears....Please post some pics of your duallies with leveling kits....

Thanks

Here are some pics of mine...

These are 285s with a 1/4" spacer on the very inside dual, a 1 1/2" between the duals, and a 1 1/2" lift spacer under the front coils.

Why do you run the 1/4 inspacers behind the inside dual?

I don't think 285s would be OK without spacer...

With a 1 1/2 spacer between the duals the stock studs hit the outer wheel, so I used the spacer to correct the problem, some guys grind them down a hair but I had these laying around.

If you dont tow real heavy and run the max psi I doubt you would need a spacer with 285s but I tow extremely heavy so I didnt want to take the chance.

Thanks for the nice words fellas!

How are those firestones doing while towing? They are D load range correct.I pm'd you a few weeks ago and appreciated your response.Still undecided on which tire. Those firestones look awesome I'm just worried about the load rating.Nitto and toyo make an E rated tire but they are not as aggressive as your tire

If you're gonna get a 2" spacer for the rear anyway, run 35s. 2" leveling kit and 35s:

I should have just left it like that.

I know lots of guys run the 35 x 12.5 R17's on the stock dually rims with the spacer, but for the Open Country MT's I'd like to get Toyo recomends a 10" rim, with a minimum of 8.5". Are these really safe to run on the stock 6 inchers?

You didnt ask me but mine are D rated, 3,000 lbs a piece I think in single, not sure what they are rated for as duals. I have towed well over 20,000 lbs 500 miles in a day or more and I have had no problems. The tires have about 36,000+ miles on them and I could still go another 5,000 probabley but I got a new set already just havent put them on yet.

The way I look at 4 D tires are are gona support a lot more weight than 2 Es and I have towed just as much weight behing a single tire F350, JMO.
