I have the 6'in (5 3/4), It works fine for me. I have 1 of those 4x8 harbor freight trailers with the 11'in wheels and it's still ok.

I bought mine a farm show for $125.00. It was a steal! Do a search and you'll find tons of prices. I noticed my local Deere dealer is now selling them. I think I saw them for $179.95 which isn't too bad.

Does anyone on here use a B&W? I was going to buy this one for my Mega. About the same price, same load rating, and comes with 3 different size *****.

I have one of those. Did not tow with it yet, but it looks very solid and lots of adjustability

Nope, it's actually opposite. Too much weight towards the rear of the trailer will cause the trailer to wander.

I use that B&W and have no complaints. I've got the larger sized skid-steer (7,500 lbs plus attachments), and I towed 700 miles one-way for a two-month job last winter. I had 34" tires and had the hitch on the lowest setting and the truck sat level. My father used my truck to help my sister move to Kentucky (like 1300 miles one-way) and they had a trailer loaded to the max, prob 10,000 lbs+, and had no problems, either.

I like how you can flip that hitch around when it's not in use. It's nice for being able to pull into parking spots and not stick out that extra couple of inches.

I guess I wasn't even considering weight. But I *think* if you take the same double axle trailer, same load, same truck and only move the trailer from nose up to nose down, it's gonna wander more nose down?

I bought one of these things from the local U-haul store.
http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...24&R=200169924

It has a 5000# trailer rating, 500# tongue weight, and it is butt ugly. You do not want to leave it in the receiver when not in use because it sticks out about 10 inches. It adjusts easily with a 3/8 ratchet or a 7/8 in socket on an extension. It has a 7 3/4 in drop and 6 1/4 rise. It was the cheapest solution for me. Less than a $75.

I went with a 8" drop on a stock 05 and the 06 and it works perfect for all the trailers I have hauled so far.

I just got rid of my lifted (6") 05 and now have a stock 06 mega and my drop hitch is about 4" from the ground!! I am going to see If I can take it to a metal shop with a metal cutting band saw and take about 4" off of it.. Do you think this will weaken it???? Should I just go get a smaller drop???

Thanks guys
