What is normal EGT.?

Well first off I will tell you I have removed my Edge/Attitude because I decided I don't need all that power. Second I removed my AFE Intake system and it is now on my brothers truck, the whistle got old. But I am still running my Isspro gauges. When I had the Edge in I ran mostly on 3 and never saw egt's higher than 1100*, now stock the Isspro shows 1250* on the same hill that I would see 950* with the Edge. I can hit 1250* easy now in stock form. I have tried a new gauge and a new probe and no change. Does this sound high to you guys? The reading was empty with no trailer. The Isspro comes with a amplifier box that needs power, other gauges I ran in the past didn't have that. Could it just be a bad design? Should I try a different brand? And if anyone is wandering, the Edge /Attitude will be up for grabs soon, I only ran it for a few weeks. Just decided my truck meant more to me than the added power. Thanks for all your help.

I can't help you with the EGT problem. I just want to tell you thanks again for the AFE stage 2 intake. Personaly I love the whistle. Anyway, good luck with the EGT problem.

Sounds pretty normal to me. When I had guages only I saw 1250* empty on grades or full WOT. The Juice/Attitude was the best performance box I tried for adding power and keeping EGTs down. The AFE Stage I, Torque Tube, Banks Exhaust and Juice/Attitude combo was the lowest overall EGTs I have seen. All of the other 5 boxes and downloaders ran with higher EGTs than the Juice/Attitude, but all had settings that were lower than stock.

I have about 70,000km on my 3500, just put in an Edge EZ mod, AFE filter and Autometer Guages, i asked my mechanic the same question, where should the pyro be? The answer was with no load and average 110km/hr or 65mil/hr you should see about 600'f. I just got to work, about a 600km trip and the EGT's were about 570 to 600'f at 110km/hr. Obviously if you crank up the rpm's and boost you will get higher. If you are sitting at 1100'f that does seem very high, check the air intake for clogs and have your cat converter checked. Hope this helps.
