What are Limits of 6sp
Okay, so I know that the auto transmission has to be beefed up for any performance gains over 100 hp over stock. But what about the 6sp. I've heard that the clutch is good up to 400hp. Aside from getting a new clutch, is there anything else you have to do to the 6spd for big power (ie 500-600 hp). I have the NV5600 and am wondering how far I can go with it without any major internal changes.

My tranny is bone stock with the double disk out in front. I towed 12k with it last weekend and could spin the rears in 2nd when going to full throttle and it had no trouble taking the WOT blasts in 6th either. The NV5600 is a beast! You have no worries with it with the power these trucks are currently capable of producing. I can't comment on the new manual though.

Some of the big wigs say that they are only good till about 650-700 HP because at that level and style of clutch used they transfer the shock load and torque so solidly that they can break internally. I dont know from experience but thats what I have heard.
