Ok boyz, that was posted to stimulate a little conversational pro's and con's because I dont know beans about lift pumps and their installation. It still seems awfully high if the walbro only cost $100 dollars.

Regards, Chuck

I think those that put some good thought into anything don't follow the herd. Look at the marketing you're also paying for in the FASS. There's a reason the walbro set up does as well as it does without all the public hype.

From what i understand... the walbro kit was around long before GDP started selling it. It sold for over 1K at the time. Richard turned the kit around, put a sellable price on it, some slam up instructions for the shade tree mechanic and the rest is history ! Good for him :-)

I'm not knocking the FASS, just pointing out the positives of the walbro :-)

Until someone comes up with a solution for a better pickup tube on the tank mounted pumps I'm holding out on all of them. But if I had to buy today I'd buy the Walbro. The FASS is too big, possibly too noisy, and harder to work around if a problem arises.

ppl always complain about the fass being noisy but you will never hear the pump when your truck is running and your music is going as long as the pump holds up i dont care how loud it is its never going to be louder then my ext system on the truck anyway and forget about hearing the radio when i romp on the truck let alone the pump

The ONE thing that makes me nervous about the FASS in not being able to buy a pump in and emergency...knowing I can get a Walbro pump at the parts store is a big plus....I really like the water separator and BIG filters on the FASS too.... if FASS went bad you would almost HAVE to be towed to the next town....if the walbro went bad you hitch a ride to the next town and pick one up......it's a tough call I think

I love the FASS set-up. That loud growling pump goes with the ceramic clutch clatter and strait exhaust. I would have one if it was 75$ on Ebay instead of the Walbro. The water seperator problem is easily fixed with the Walbro. Racor makes draw through water seperators with a globe on the bottom. Lets you see all the crap that was on the bottom of your tank.

I know you can get water separators...but the FASS is ALL in one and fit's nicely in the rear fender and you cant even see it with fender liners.
I saw and heard a new FASS on a megacab a few weeks ago...you could hear it with the engine off but not while it was running...I was impressed..but still undecided

I got the walbro kit but I haven't installed it yet. I wanted to get that BD kit but everyone told me that it was the noisiest one of all so I paid the extra and got the Walbro.

The last FASS pump i put on I didnt think it was working it is so quiet. You can get FASS systems that do not have the big water seperators that just use an inline filter.
