Smile Well, the new RECONS pased the test....

It's been raining for 4 days straight and today is the fifth day. It rained really hard last night and overall I think we got about 5"+ of rain here this weekend. Anyways, not one drop of water made it in my truck. My old RECONs would have left me with a very wet driver's seat after this much rain and every turn I would have went around would have sent water running out of my visor. So, I guess the new version is in fact improved.....

Thanks CBRAHS!!!!!!!

Thats good to know. I want to get a set of the smoked cab lights soon for my truck. I was a little worried about them fogging up or leaking like you said.

I have had my recons for about a year now, and there has been two instances where it has rained a bunch and while turning, stopping, or accelerating water drips from the visor. But nothing enough to leave the seat soaked or anything like that.

I had lots of problems with the old style leaking but since swapping over to the new ones with LED's I haven't really had any issues. The new ones seal far better than the old ones. One of the LED's went out and they sent me a whole new set free of charge. The customer service stinked a while back, but recently it's picked up a lot.

Had mine on since August, no leaks yet. And it's been raining with a 45 mph wind for the last day.

Yup, I even had silicone on the old style too but it didn't help. This time I just dabbed it around the perimeter of the plastic inserts but not on top. It was just enough to form a nice tight seal once the screws were tightened down.
I made a big mistake on my first set too by putting silicone inside the screw holes. The screws would never get tight until I scraped all the silicone out of those holes....
