Ooooh, OK. How would their layoffs affect how dealers behave with aftermarket stuff?

I was just saying that along with the cuts, they will be trying to make up profit any way possible and cutting as many corners as possible. Voiding warranties and not having to spend their own dime would definitely help out in the bottom line figures. Warranty work has got to cost DC a lot of $$$.

That is true. I was not understanding your point until now. I guess it would all depend on how much DC "$$$ talk" leaks down the chain of command into dealers.

D.Wiggs,

It sounds like you have $100 dollar bills lying around everywhere

Are all of those vehicles on your webpage yours? If they are, what line of work are you in if you don't mind me asking

If you don't want to tell, just tell me to get bent.....I won't take offense

"difference is, toyotas never have to go back to the dealer......hahaha"

I don't know where you guys are finding the lemons...but I have 200k between two 3rd Gen Dodges sitting right outside my window and they have never had to go to the dealer either?

I would never drive a Toyota...diesel or not. The doors don't even "feel" right when you shut them. Now...if VW, Audi, Porsche, Mercedes, or BMW makes a diesel truck someday, I would consider. LOL

It really jerks me when I see/hear of people in your situation. The immediate jump to some foregone conclusion about an aftermarket part being the sole problem, and then the voiding of a warranty without proper reasearh and examination is a sorry way to run your business and live up to a contract.

Obviously they use these threats as a manupulative tool to control you without regard to your rights as an owner and consumer. They know that they have you over a barrel and that a legal approach on your part is the lesser of the possibilities because of the expense of that avenue. Most attorneys do not charge an arm and a leg to write letters on your behalf. If/when a company sees someone standing up to them right up front with some legal premise, they re-think their position and DO get a little more agreeable, or are willing participants toward finding a solution.

There have been several people here and on other forums who have had problems installing a TT on the 2006 trucks, but their problems appear to be more fuel system related. I do not know if any of them have found a solution other than to remove their TT's and wait for the TT manufacturer to fix whatever with their product.

There have also been several people here and on other sites who have reported the SAME problem/situation you are experiencing who hav not added any aftermarket parts, they are having the problem with their block heaters, throwing relative codes, etc. So, this may just be a problem that DC has yet to discover is more widespread and needs them to step up to the plate and get solved.

If it were me at the juncture you are facing regarding the warranty issue, I would remove the TT and then take a wait and see position with the dealer and DC, put the ball back in their court and make them correct my problem under warranty. I would approach it from the angle that without the problem they suspect - being the aftermarket product - let's see what we really have? That will separate their ability to just blame the product and get away with their crap. If in fact the problem still remains, then it will be their issue and their issue alone. If the problem goes away, then the real issue may be in the aftermarket part, and it will become that manufacturers responsibility to make it right with you. Either way, it will be a win for one or the other, and you will come out on top as your warranty will be in tact without further argument as to who is or who is not responsible.

I feel for you in this situation, we all add goodies, and we all could be standing on the line toe to toe with a dealership and DC over this stuff. If enough people would take things slowly and go to the trouble of a fact finding regarding these things it would help us all. I certainly would not want to install something that could risk my vehicle let alone my warranty. But in the same regard I would not want to have a company give me orders and tell me what I could or could not do with something that I have bought/own to use as I see fit, afterall it is my bucks that are invested not theirs.

Take a deep breath, look for the right solution to fix your truck and your situation. Go back to the bargaining table and make it right for yourself in the light of ALL concerned.

HAHAHA! If they are, then I can't find them!

All, but the Kenworth either are/were mine. The Kenworth is a future project starting late this year/ early next.

As for the occupation, you will find it in my signature!

Dodge voided my lift pump warranty because I had a fuel pressure gauge on it and then tried to void my warranty again when my cruise control went out and I had an aftermarket lift pump on it. I love my dodge but after treating me the way they did I'll never buy another one.
