walbro + deep water

So I installed my 392 a couple weeks ago, and mounted it in front of the fuel tank on the inside of the frame rail as the instructions suggested.

Now, with all this rain, I am wondering just how safe those electrical connections are, and if its going to hurt anything when the pump gets wet.

We've had some water up to 8" to 12" deep in places and I used to roll through them without a care in the world...now i'm a bit nervous since I dont want to tear up the new pump.

Anyone ever short one of these out or seen problems with them getting wet?

Good question...

Sorry I dont have an answer though, but im sure someone will have more insight...

I would think as long as used shrinkwrap, tape, etc to keep it sealed well, it SHOULDNT be an issue, but im not sure if there would be a problem with the pump being submerged...
Just because its a stud for the connections, not really anyway to have a water tight seal over it...

I have driven my truck through a creek about 2' deep and never had a problem with my pump. I have had problems with the connections corroding from salt on the raods in winter but never from water, snow, mud, or anything like that. My truck has seen some wheeling and some deep water with no problems yet

Good to know. I'll be buying the GDP-392 kit next week! Hopefully the crappy stock pump will last that long... Getting pretty weak...
