Vortex Valve??

Vortex Valve??
I normally don't buy into any "performance gadgets, but I wanted to see if anyone has heard of these. I've talked to two guys who run these in their Cummins and they claim better gas mileage and acceleration. It installs inside the rubber boot at the intake manifold. I am assuming it's baloney but thought I would ask anyway???

I looked into one of these 'gadgets' also. Alot of people here had alot of good reasons why it wouldn't do any good. If your intake system is still stock, the insides of the tube leading to the turbo would stop the spinning air right away. If it made it past there, the turbo would undo whatever the gadget did to the air. If the turbo doesn't, the intercooler would. Popular Mechanics tested a bunch of gadgets and found that none had any positive effect, and several actually had a negative effect. I don't buy it..

Doesn't matter, you think that air is going to still be spinning as soon as it enters the head? Have you ever seen a cummins head? The air wont be spinning for long.
