I mentioned the surging, but have not seen others comment on it. With the cruise set and the V in the high positoin, you can actually feel the truck speed up and slow down. But that is no problem for me because I only flip it over to the third positon when I plan to "blow some doors off" and I am not "cruising" then.
For me the high setting is just for passing or pulling very hard for a short time.
I did not reread the entire thread but the V does have a switch that fits in the cabin, so you can easily turn it off or change positions. Mine is off in town, on 60 on the road and 100 for passing.
Have been very happy with it.
