Valve cover, cover

Has anyone ever seen or made a cover other than the black plastic stock one? I'm thinking Billet Aluminum or stainless would be cool. I've never welded any aluminum but it would be cool to even make something. Anyone?

Someone makes a stainless steel or aluminum one. Hellman Performance I think?

Geno's sells a billet aluminum unit. Pretty pricey at $375, but it looks good. Comes in 4 colors.

I painted mine to match my truck, but it made little difference since it's so dark. I am thinking about doing it in another color soon and finding some chrome decals that go over the letters. I saw them on e-bay once precut, but haven't found them since. So I may have to get some and cut them on my own. I was thinking of doing the cover in red, or blue perhaps....

This is what I did with less than $10 of paint.

That does look really good. I never thought about doing the intake horn. Will regular paint hold up well on it? (intake horn) My buddy will powercoat anything I want for really cheap too. I did some similar painting to some of the plastic parts on my 7.3, specifically the plastic cover in the middle of the engine that read "7.3 Power Stroke Diesel" and the airbox cover which read "intercooled" and it came out really well. I'm gonna have to get a day off soon, but with as many calls as I have had this week I might never be off again! No complaints there though.

The valve "vanity" cover just gets in the way of progress.
Dont have one on my truck anymore.

I would take mine off but it does hide the ugly breather box.
