seems like the C5 is hard to find by itself right now much less the tuning software. like they over hyped it and then weren't prepared to deliver.

if you find a tuner, keep us posted on how your truck runs afterwards!

 

The C5 tuning software is not out yet. The last I heard it will be a couple of weeks yet. People such as myself who have custom tunes have had them done by the VA engineers. As for how the truck runs, on level 4 my truck just ran a new best of 13.033 in the 1/4.

On level 5 which is the 560 HP tune my truck actually ran slower because I could not stop wheel spin in 4WD and my 60' times suffered but my MPH at the end of the 1/4 was 4 MPH faster.
The Module is super smooth and I really like the 5 levels that are available.

 

Their names are Mark and Pete. They live in England though so I don't know how much help there names are.

 

I got my C5 from Mid Atlantic Diesel, http://midatlanticdiesel.com/. 240-818-2973 He's a long time diesel hot rodder (Lloyd Imills) I can't remember where, but I did hear that the software is supposed to be out at the end of the month. If you buy the C5 with software now, the charge for software is $100, later it will be raised to $300 (I guess that deal is still going, not sure)
Green04HO, how much time did the factory tuners spend on your truck to get it dialed in? Did it seem like something you could do, (change at the track, and retest) or does it take a lot of experience?

 

The tuning on my truck was done on the dyno and they only spent a couple of minutes between runs making adjustments. I would guess my total time on the dyno was about a half an hour. I was told that the program I saw was the engineering program and the consumer program would be much easier to manipulate. From what I saw I think that it could easily be done at the track.

I got brave today and stacked the Smarty on 60 HP, wild TQ management, no timing with the C5 and let me say that I'm very happy with the way it feels. I was going to try to run the stack at the track on Friday but chickened out. I really wanted to make it home under my own power. Next spring when I get the Twins installed I will run it at the track. Right now I'm just trying to see how it does on the street.
I will say I like the stack better than just the Smarty on higher settings. You still have good bottom end and the temps stay lower on the top end.
