Using a Smarty to enable the high idle on a six-speed

Has anyone used their smarty to enable the fast idle on their 04.5 6-speed truck? I’m assuming I can just buy the parts needed from the dealer and use the smarty to enable the fast idle myself. Winter is coming soon, and a fast idle would be nice. That along with the code reading capability, and extra power, is making the smarty very tempting right now.

And anyone could anyone that has the high idle activated tell me just how high it can be set, and at and at what increments can it be increased at?

So I was told, idling up the 6speeds for extended warm up times will cause the trans front bearing to fail due to inadequate oiling.

That is quoting the diesel mechanic at the local dealership.

Would this include the old trick of grounding pin #22, or is that not the same with the 06's?

I just read that in the other thread, I wonder what he considers "extended". (I wouldn't idle for more than 15-20 minutes)
Obviously, it is cause for concern, this is the first I have heard of this.

Interesting as I would think that with the input shaft turning the countershaft and all the intermediate gears that there would be enough oil splash to lubricate the input shaft bearing. The NV5600 are constant mesh transmissions so the synchos are what lock up the gear sets or am I off base here?

In theory, I've enabled the manual high idle through the CC in all softwares.
Theory, I've not yet had the time to research the thing completly. From what I know today, it works in the AT trucks.
Sooo, no claims made...

I have heard this from tranny shops up here as well. I overfilled my tranny buy 1/2L to hopefully prevent this.

I think I'm just going to try and ground out the pto pin (#22?). I am waiting to hear back from the dealer on getting the proper parts from the factory. I also called my local cummins dealer, but he cant get all the parts. Gonna try another one.

I'll post again if I get something to work.
