If the previous owner left a performance download on my truck how could I find out for sure?

I don't think anyone would leave a downloader on the truck without giving you the unit because once you load a program they are VIN locked and can not be used on another truck, so if he left the program on the truck and kept the downloader it would be useless. If you are asking how to tell if it has ever had a different program on it in the past but not any more, I don't know how you would tell unless you took it to a dealer and asked them to try to find it by looking at the key counter info. Hope this helps.

I know you can take it to the dealer, they might charge you but they can hook up the DRB III and scan the ecm to see if it was altered. I know that the superchip downloader will leave a #1 code then the factory number.

I have a different answer to that.. When I had my 05 with the triple dog I had it downloaded into the truck and when I traded it in it was still in the truck but I decided to take the downloader to upload features on my new truck if any and then ditch it. Well I donwloaded the 06 features for dodge and in my feature changing it downloaded the downloader into my 06 and for fear of unplugging it I let it run it's course not knowing what was going to happen.. Presto I had the Crazy laryy in my 06 along with all the other features???? It set the abs lights off which after an extensive search that is common in the 06?? But I had the outlook monitor on my 05 so I don't know that if it wouldn't let the programs be completely erased or what.. Another scenario is when my alternator wires fried I uninstalled the Bd Program and hid the outlookunder the dash when I went and picked up the truck I drove around the block and got out and re-hooked the outlook up on the dash and flipped the button up to extreme... Black smokkke everywhere just like normal and I had suposively gone through with the Downloader and put the truck back into stock??? That's why I am not sold on the whole monitor concept???

Well the only reason I'm asking is that my O4.5 was not as responsive as this 05.5 and it has a drone at 2200rpms. The exhast and intake look factory. This truck may have been a repo.
Thanks for the info.

I'm guessing the truck was definitly modified. Don't know how I missed seeing the pyro probe in the exhaust. Also noticed what looks like some welding done on the exhaust side of the turbo.

Mine was modded by the previous owner, tell tale sign is the velcro on the fuse box cover.

Since the pyro is there and the wires to it all I would need is the gauge and connect it? Is digital as good as the dial type gages?

Ok the results are in. Look at intake fan thread. Ran the dyno at Rogersville 12 times and the results are 342hp and 664tq. Someone left a downloader on my truck. Is there a downloader that will restrickt top speed?

Is there a down loader that would limit top speed and boost? My truck only goes to 95mph, 373gears and 23ish psi boost.

If anything, these things up those parameters, not hold them back. Are you sure there is no box up under the dash or stuck beside the fuse box? If you are getting more than stock fueling then you should definitely be seeing more than 23psi.....
