Have a 2005 3500 dullay and want to upgrade the trans. Want to replace valve body and converter. The question is where to take it for upgrades. I live in south texas around the victoria area so if anyone knows of someone that does good work I would like to know.

 

Hot Rod diesel but they are in hitchcock that might be a drive for you. I dont know how far you are willing to go for your work. I live in Missouri City, so that is were I go. Never had the tranny built there but from what I here they are pretty good. Other than that you have Relentless Diesel in willis and they are good also that is were i got my trans priced at, it was $3100.00 for vb, tc and input shaft all labor included in price and fluids. They told me that set up would hold 600 + with there trucks to back it.

 

I used Relentless. Chris can modify the VB and save you a couple hundred (his suggestion). Suncoast triple disk, billet input, modified valve body, a new band and disk for under 3,000. I can not find the receipt but there was other stuff.

I picked the truck up May 30th and towed June one my 5er about 13k about hundred miles. No problems. The shifts are much "firmer" and the TC grabs on lockup ( which is what the TC is suppose to do). It is not the smooth slip of the stock trans. You know the power is getting to the ground. When I picked my truck up Chris was already starting on another 48RE.

The only problem I saw was "Chris drives a duramax".
