Question auto trans upgrade

hi guys. was wondering if doing a vb and tc from suncoast is a good idea to put in my stock 47re (20000 mi) or if its worth it to get the whole trans? i want to get some 275 rv injectors to pep it up a little with my edge ez. thats as far as my mods will go. also have any of you installed your own vb. can it be done in the garage at home on a weekend or do i need to save a little more and have a shop do it?

ne feed back appreciated.

thanks, andy

every tranny is going to be different as far as im concerned. depends on if your a gambling man. but 20,000 miles is not many and if your tranny is performing fine you should have no problem. remember the VB and Conveter will not fix problems you are having if thats why you are installing them. from what i Have read (alot) these trannies suffer from poor internal sealing which causes pressure drops accross the fluid coupling and that is what causes most of the problems. If your mechanically inclined you should be able to do the valve body in a few hours. just make sure the area is very clean and the instructions are well written you dont want to have to do it twice because of a check ball that is installed in the wrong place have some vaseline handy for holding parts in place and an inch pound torque wrench. the torque converter is another story just a pain cause of the weight of the components and be patient getting the converter to slide into the pump it can be a pain sometimes.

I just went down there and had my tranny done by them. The treatment was great and they did great work. They will talk with you and see where you want to go as far as horsepower and how you plan to use the truck. Then after the interview you will go on a test ride so you can get a feel for what you want. They will answer all your questions so you can make an informed decision. They will sell you what you need not a one-size fits all or what is on the shelf. They will set up the valve body the way you need it done and a torque converter that will do the job.
Here is the thread I started while down there. I highly recommend them.
