Unstreetable?

At what point would a common rail become unstreetable? i understand if you put a big charger that wont light very well at a low rpm can do it quick, but is there a certain level of injector or these higher injection pumps cause a truck to come off the street? Also how does these topside (st. 4 and st.3)
cp3 pumps compare to a turned up p-pump? Lots of questions sorry! haha thanks

Personal preferance, what i consider to be unstreetable is alot of fun for some folks. I drove a truck last month that had a gt 4202 as the primary and a fat bastard or maybe bigger for the secondary and i thought it was awful to drive. The owner sure likes it though.

My Stage 3 pump idles the same as it did with the stock cp3. I'm over 600hp and plan on hitting 700hp soon... And I'm about to make a 700 mile trip with the truck.

If you want the power bad enough, you'll sacrifice drivability. Your limit is gonna depend on what you can stand to take. Could be 500hp for some, or 1200hp for others!!!

i do believe the p-pump is still ahead of the cp3. even with duals you bring it even but a cp3 modified is only like 9cc (or however it is they measure it) and a p-pump can have a 13 cc plunger in it so i would say a p-pump will still outflow even twin cp3's plus turn more rpm to boot

depends on how big of a city you live in ie: Los Angeles , Chicago , Portland, etc 4.15 -4.50 gal for #2 at 12 mpg gets spendy after investing $20,000 ++ for 800 + rwhp on #2 & all the black smoke associated with huge injectors & big turbos not very welcome in big city's

drive a truck with 700 rwhp the way it want's to be driven = replace tires @ 8,000- 10,000 miles front & rear brakes 25,000 miles a few clutch rebuilds on the trans a few broken shafts , a blown head gasket , a scored head , etc etc

also depends on how much cash you want to spend !

building a race truck starts to make sense because big power costs big $$$ to just keep a 700 rwhp ++ truck popping fresh dough !!

when it becomes unstreetable your credit cards are maxed out.......... the bank wont do another heloc , your diesel gas credit card won't work any more , truck keeps breaking , your trying to figure out how to put together some more cash to just get it fixed one last time etc.. etc ..LMAO............ unstreetable..................

Everything is streetable IMO, just what do you want to do with it. My truck is my work truck, play truck, and road trip truck. It does go down occasionaly but mostly it's just minor stuff. Have not had any major failures since all the mods. It gets annoying though after awhile but I think it's worth it. It would be nice to have a spare truck laying around but I don't. The thing that is different is if you have a 700hp 12 valve thats what you have a 700hp daily drive. as a CR with 700hp is a 350,400,450,500,550,600,650,700. Just depends on how many times you hit the button.

You hear alot about guys adding mods to their trucks that make it run awesome. What you don't hear about is 5 other mods thay had to do to support the orginal one.

700hp to the ground is a good round number that is easily streetable with twins. A single is going to be much harder to keep the smoke down. Like some of the other posts have mentioned it really depends on your idea of driveablity is. I know a truck that is running our R850 twins and should be just over 1000hp and his wife uses it as a daily driver. I think making a good match with the turbos makes all the difference in how streetable the truck is.
