ks,

To me guys getting worked up over a blown headgasket is just crazy. It's all part of the game. You can't go to the local track to race or pull every weekend and expect not to break. Now if I had a spare engine I would get spray happy with this one. Then I would be getting fake hp in my opinion

Point is if you plan one having a good competing truck you are going to break at some point. I think putting the truck on a trailer and pulling it to the track is a great idea. I'm buying a gooseneck and getting another truck eventually to pull it. I'll just borrow my dads for now.

It sucked when I broke at the track. I was done for the night and my sister begged me to do it one more time so guess what... Im broke with 45 minutes till they lock the gates... Luckily I have a friend that had a gooseneck at home and has no respect for the speed limit

What settings were you running on the smarty and tst when you blew your headgasket?

do you get surging when driving your 03 tq dog down the street on your 05 i get a good bit when tq management is off and running the triple dog on any thing

Luken, That's the point I was trying to make...once you get good strong diesel power at a reasonable amount of boost you can spray a ton and still be in the safe zone. No use fireringing unless you are going to go to 14mm studs. 12mm and the mls hold 80psi....at about 1650degrees....not 90psi+ at 1750.
I don't have to run high settings to make crazy boost. I was on Smarty 1 with the TST on 4 with the water/meth still on. I thought the water was off but I had switched off the RAD but forgot that I had bypassed the water switch to get more direct power to the pump. Yep on last rip a couple miles from the house....it was good that I blew it though as otherwise I wouldn't have found the bent seat and valve or the other 11 loose exhaust valve seats, guides, valves and seals. ks

king d.....i did get some surging when only using the triple dog and not the torque dog. i had the outlook hooked up first and then the torque dog on the map sensor, but i swapped it around and havent had a problem. try swapping them around. its a great stack. i think.
