Exclamation Uls Fuel / Premature Injector Wear Concider This A Warning!

so, i know the big oil companys said they did tests and removig the sulfer didnt cause any accelerated wear..... i call bs!

ive been seeing ALOT more nozels/injectors coming in that are fubar.

I HIGHLY RECOMEND USEING A FUEL LUBE ADDITIVE!

You'll note that in the folowing pics the seat area where the neadle seats is pounded out, and has actualy moved down int the spray hole area.. i have seen nozels come thru where the neadle is recessed .035" !!!

pardon the camera phone pic quality, but i think this is definetly where a pic is worth 1000 words!

My dealership head/lead diesel mechanic told me when I was BS'ing w/ him. That they are aware of the ULSD gives 5.9 engines injector problems. So, atleast my dealership says they do not have to go through Chrysler anymore when a injector/s goes south (unless you drive up w/ a tuner/programmer on or a repeat repair). They replace all six even if one injector is bad. He also told me they put in a better injector now for replacement that what came off the assembly line (I didn't ask specifics on it).

Hey Gus, I have always been afraid of this. I run B-20 and B-5 biodiesel. I read that is supposed to be as good as a lubricant as you can get, and it is same price as the ULSD, - - - What do you think about Bio and no additives. Thanks

the nozel # on youur oe was a 1309, the new one is a 1659. there are a few subtle diferances. diferant seat, fully teflon coated neadle etc... they changed in 06.

oh, and yes...... i have seen problems on those ones as well.....

From your pictures, how did you rule out water and/or particle contamination and know is it lubrication?

several have been from trucks in our own shop and been able to check

so far the only constant that we have found thru several hundred is lack of aditive. it wasnt ever an issue a couple years ago, and now were seeing it even in newer/lowmilage trucks.

it'd be cool to see if don chimes in to report his findings etc.
i have a feeling its getting to be a bigger issue that once thought.

i was told by a Cummins tech not to regularly use products like Power Service and Stanadyne because of the large amounts of solvents they contain, so would Howes Diesel Treat or Lucas Upper Cylinder Lube be some good choices?

I jumped ship from the Power Service to the Wally world 2cycle oil a few months ago.In my opinion the truck idles and runs smoother since the switch.I always had the occasional rough idle/white smoke on start up with stock,flux1 and flux2 sticks.I haven't had it since making the switch.Coincidence?I don't know but I'm gonna stick with it.John with Floor It told me he has torn down a couple pumps that the owner used 2 cycle in from new and he said the pump looked good as new with 60k+ miles.I would imagine it must be doing something good for the injectors also.

I have noticed my engine is a whole lot smoother with a few gallons of filtered WMO in the tank. And quieter too.

I have wondered if the soot in the WMO will cause long term problems when being used as a fuel supplement.I have plenty sitting around and it has crossed my mind to try it out.

Don't think it's a problem if used in small doses, less than 25%. And filtering really well to 0.5 micron and below.

Thanks for clearing that up Dodgezilla. I've never heard of gus (brian) before and was leary of his claims.
