I run my 04.5 built trans mission in normal mode. I have a lockup button and lock the TC soon after I leave the line. The Smarty with torque management relief will fuel all the way through each shift. Without the Smarty mine would stop fueling hard do to torque management around the 2950-3000rpm range and just kind of coast until it shifted into OD. This was bad for times and temps. Now it pulls all the way to about 3300rpms and shifts hard. Lowered EGTs at that point 200* and time by .3 of a second.

None of the above is very good for a stock TC/Transmission.

My truck hits 92 at the end, and shifts into OD at about 80-81. The overdrive shift is MUCH needed and with tow/haul turned on i was turning 15.02's and with it turned off i was turning the same

I would run out of rpms without the OD gear before the end of the 1/4.

No switch was installed by Michael at HotRodDiesels.com to use strickly for racing. Works with the Dunrite 3disc custom stall TC and valve body work Michael did. Pretty sure it can be done on any tc/trans, taps into the lockup circuit wiring going to trans with a resistor and in my case a push button. Push in and lock, let up and normal functionality.

I have a setup similiar to RamWheelsBy4. Mines just on a toggle. It's cheaper than the ats too... (only by $400 bucks or so )
