Got a friend who's truck is acting like it has a problem with 1 of 2 parts. Either the turbo is done, or the intercooler is (2005 600 series).
Where is a good place to look for low cost replacements, either stock or aftermarket.
So far if either has gone wrong it'll be around $1200 at least.
And what is the deal with 6.7 VGT turbos going for less than $500 on Ebay?

 

Look on here in the classifieds. You will find one every now and then. Either that or try a CoolTwist Intercooler.

 

What are the problems with the turbo or intercooler.

 

Intercooler blew out between the plastic ducting and the metal cooling unit. Picked one up from a wrecking yard, unfortunately its exactly the same intercooler so it might do it again.
When it has boost this thing runs pretty good, but now the blow-by on this thing is ridicules.

 

If it may still be under warranty Dodge did have a few problems with the plastic intercoolers. Check with your dealer and maybe it can be warrantied?????

 

104,000 miles and asked if there was a recall or anything at the Dodge Dealer, they said "nope". New one from them was $718 :P

 

I would buy one of the razzoo aftermarket ones if you cant find a used metal end stocker. No sense in replacing it with another plastic end unit.
