Turbo tips
Well my new turbo should be here on wednesday and i'm going to install it the following weekend. I'm looking for any suggestions on installing it because it's the first time i've done this. 2nd i'm not puttiing studs in right now, so should I just leave the wastegate setting at 40psi alone or turn it up a little bit
thanx

ive been told to let the truck warm up before you run it hard with big boost. you should be ok if its not gonna be much bigger. Im not running studs with an aurora 5k at the moment. I ran an II sps 66 for a while on an 05 also, no studs no issues. it would produce 50 psi also. I think you will be ok. studs are on my list in the near future. you may find it easier to remove the manifold and turbo all together. just take your time and oil the new turbo somehow when you put it back on. make sure they should send you a plug in for the wastegate so it dont set a code off. I changed my oil at the same time to run new oil thru the turbo also.
I got a lift/friend to help me do this and I was thinking about removing the inner fender to get better access to the snail. If I remove the manifold as well the gasket will have to get changed to? right Thanx for the advise.
What is the plug? (resistor) Thats what high tech says but i heard that the smarty does enogh boost fooling With aftermarket turbo upgrade but I'm running beta so thats why I ask. maybe bob can help out.

Removing the inner fender is a good idea. Just take your time, everything is pretty simple, just time consuming. The hardest time I had was re-connecting the cast pipe to the turbo and the downpipe. Also, it's easiest to remove the turbo oil drain from the top of the engine conpartment. Reach down and pull it up... better leverage. Also install the drain on the new turbo BEFORE you install the turbo. Trust me... you'll see why...
Also, I used the resistor plug that came with my turbo even though I have boost fooling already... You'll need to plug something into that since your new turbo probably doesn't have the electronic sensor...

We changed my stocker for a II Silver Bullet back in feb. If I had it to do over again I probably would have removed the manifold, or tried taking the fender off. Also I am not yet running studs, with max boost 55 psi. I run without my tst box on most of the time, and it only hits 30 or so without it. I don't run it hard unless it is at temperature. Word is that 45+ is pushing your luck, but I have heard of guys running the same or more than I am for many, many miles without issues. It's always good insurance to just put studs in though.
Jesse I knew you were getting an A5K, didn't know you had it already. I'm gonna have to take a gander at that beast.

Adam, I bought it from a member on here a few weeks ago. shane was gonna run it until his twins were done and they didnt get them done in time. I put it on friday, only been on a few days. it takes alot to get it going. when it comes on you know it! I want to get studs in mine soon, hopefully in the next month

I believe that you are good to 50,, maybe even 55,, but that is IMHO the limit (even though there are many guys that run even more without,, but that is pretty much the same as playing russian roulette. But maybe with 2 bullets.

probably runs a little better. its got some more lag to this one. you will have to ride in it and tell me what you think. I havent really had a change to run anybody. I am mainly trying not to blow it up. out on the interstate it runs well. the top end is pretty strong. its hard to get used to. I will tell you that it will smoke as much as you want now, no joke.

You can just plug in the stock solenoid from the stock charger. I have been running like that for several years with no issues.
