Is Turbo Goin out?
I just recently purchased my own 04.5 Dodge diesel 325 hp 6 spd. I put a Quadzilla Xzilliraider 100 hp module on it with a K & N cold air intake kit. I have the guages that are on the pillar and the highest boost i get to with the module on the 3rd setting is 15-17 psi. I also noticed that the turbo has a littler higher pitched sound to it do you think my turbo could be goin out or what might be the problem? The truck only has 80000 miles on it and seems to have plenty of power especially with these newest mods.

Could be a number of things. To check the turbo pull off the intake tube and inspect shaft play and movability of the compressor wheel. It could also be fuel related. If theres not enough fuel you cant light the turbo. Check all intercooler boots for holes or cracks. Could be a bad gauge also
Several things....like mentioned....sure the guage is correct? Also...could be a stuck wastegate ( open ) . Fill out your sig. so we know what all you have. Go to the upper left of the screen and click on User CP . Then edit signature.
well im not sure that guage is correct it was already installed when i bought it. Is it normal when you put the k and n intake kit that gets rid of the entire stock setup for the turbo to have a different pitch? It should be getting enough fuel idk if this tells you much but i am getting around 22mpg with the quadzilla.

Completely normal for a higher pitch from the turbo when you add a aftermarket filter and intake. Can you hear and feel the turbo light at heavy throttle?
I would say the K&N is giving you a little more turbo noise, which is expectedly normal. As for the boost guage.....you must have a bad guage. You would notice some driveability issues if you only had 17 psi of boost, IMO.

I think some of those manual gauges have plastic lines to read boost. If so you may have a leak in your line.
