Question Turbo differences??

Are there any dfferences between an '04 turbo and one off an '04.5+? Thanks!

I would make only a very slight difference. not worth a swap.one has a mechanical wastegate and the 04.5 is electronic

Then my ECU probably wouldnt control that turbo anyways?

No it won't but you can just by pass the controlled wastegate portion and run a direct pressure line to the wastegate diaphragm and it will work just fine.

I thought about installing a turbo from 04.5 or newer on my 03. After quite a bit of reading, I could not justify spending that money on a "stock" turbo. So I decided to go with the htt 64/13 and no regrets at all about it.

Didn't the '04 and earlier HPCRs come with an HE341? ('04.5+ 5.9L have HE351s)... same exhaust side, but smaller compressor than the 351, IIRC.

You can change out your downpipe to a 4". I got mine through MBRP with my stacks, but you should be able to find one from any of the members on here with aftermarket exhausts on 04.5 up.
