TST Mystery
Just make sure you have an EGT gauge as well as boost and trans temp. Watch the egt. You can spike it over 1250 in short bursts without damage, but if you start running 1500+ for long periods you are bound to cause damage. I would get out of if it got past 1500 anyway. I think there was a guy on here who stacked a tst with a smarty on the stock charger and made two and a half passes at the drag strip and then the engine went boom!
I recently read a thread here about max timing, it was said that BDCL was 23 or 24 degrees which is near the max.
Another person said that if you have too much timing you may not be able to tell until you do some damage-hole in piston, etc.
Do you know if this is true? Can anybody expand on this? Can you damage your engine while making sure your EGT's are within a safe range by using too much timing?
Anybody know how much TST with r-49 advances timing maximum? I know that I'll have to do the odd or even programs (I forget) so Smarty isn't advancing timing as well as the TST.
