tst and mp-8 reinstall or sell

So after all the issues I've had and problems I encountered with my tst self adjusting they say it is fixed and problem free. But I'm nervous now. I've got a floor it stage 2 and flux 3.3s on the way but I don't want to damage them.

I'm pretty sure that either the tst or the mp-8 damaged my stock injectors so initially I pulled both boxes and just ran the smarty but now I'm worried. How many others are still running this setup and what have you broke?

I have a commander on order and the arp studs are going on but I've lost faith in both my boxes at this point and was considering the quad race and ez or something.

Any info would be appreciated.

I have always thought TST made a good box. I considered buying one many times to replace my Edge. A ton of people have had great success with them.

No matter what anyone says here, you will always have that doubt and that will weigh on you until you get rid of it. I know if I put all that time and money into injectors/CP3 like you did, I would like to protect my investment to the best of my ability.

Quad race x2 stacker with smarty beta 4.4 is a killer stack. But If I only had a truck that tst would work on I would gladly slap one on it a heartbeat.

I only wish I could have a TST on my '07.

The TST/Smarty/MP-8 stack rocked on my '03!

If I were in your shoes, I would probably sell the "fixed" TST and get a new one just to be safe. I like it that much!

Um...I would have the MP-8 checked by TS performance...and stick with that and the Smarty. You will not need the TST at all with 3.3's and a Stage 2 pump unless you step up to dual pumps.

Smarty...and a litle help from the MP-8 is as good as it gets!

True. It was the most rewarding combo to drive with for me!

The real problem I encountered was in that when I ran the mp8 on 50-75% and the tst would self adjust the preassure all the way up or power or tourqe levels all the way or advance the timing or all of it or the cool down timer would shut itself off I would unknowingly hammer on it and break stuff.

Like I had to replace the prv with a cap because it blew and I chased the failure to start problem for weeks before I decided it was the injectors through a flow test. Now I "should" have all the necessary parts in place to be able to romp on it at will but I'm just worried about the tst having problems again or like DWiggs found out the mp8 can still destroy flux injectors. The one saving grace I'm hoping is that I do have filtering of fueleown to 2 microns with the fass.

Who knows I guess I'll put the faith in tst and giv it a whirl

cquest I just read your post. I'll take your advice as I know u have slot more experience than I. John at floor it says to use the tst at hp2 tq0. Smarty real high and mp8 at 75% with the 3.3s and stage2. I also wanted to use the tst for timing adj and turbo timer. What's your take on all that?

As I said I don't think it was the mp8 as much as both the mp8 mixed with the aggresive nature of tst 9 preassure I was getting.

Well...my truck is happy with 3 more degrees of timing from the TST...but it is not happy with even 1-0 over SW7 or SW9 of a big Smarty tune...rail pressure suffers and so does HP and EGTs.

I would just play with the Smarty and 50-60% of the MP-8 with that combo for a while and get a feel. Heck...save the TST for a rainy day.

If you stacked the TST pressure with the MP-8 pressure...you just explained why you toasted injectors...

yeah no kidding I wish I would have been able to control that. I would check it before I drove it and everything. I guess sometimes ya get a lemon. So do you even run a timer or u just wait till it hits 350 or less

I use a good ole' Howards timer. There are other simple timers out there...so you don't have to depend on the TST one. Brite Box makes one too.

Pull the TST off...and send it back to have it fixed. Then shelf it for a rainy day or sell it.
