It's bad-Edit. It really puts you back in your seat. The biggest thing about it is the infinite adjustability. The bottom end is very strong. Overall a great box. I've tried a bunch of pressure boxes, and that's my favorite. It's rated at 100hp and dynoed at 112 extra hp with my '03 on a Mustang load dyno.

For my '07, though, I'll be going with a Quad X2 as it's updatable with different programs to suit your needs.

If you're paying the same for either one, the better value is the Quad.

I have the Ramifier, which is the predecessor to the MP8, mine is nonadjustable but still fun. One thing you have to watch is rail pressure. The mp8 is a pressure box. My ramifier does boost fooling, I don't know if the mp8 does too or not. But a great box, stacked with my juice it runs great! I gained about a 1-1.5 mpg with it and the truck seems to run a little cooler than before since I don't have to hit the throttle as much.

I'm about to ditch my power puck and either go with the mp-8 or tst box. Does anyone have any comparison info on the two?

That is comparing apples and oranges.

MP-8 is a pressure only box, simple rheostat controlled, turn it and get more. Effective with stacking with other boxes and downloaders that do not give pressure. Much like your puck, but more effective (IMO).

TST is primarily timing/duration box that has different settings that allow more torque (low end fueling) or more HP (high end fueling) and you can mix and match the settings. 3/0 or 1/3 or whatever. (First number torque level, second HP level) It can be sent with different programs as well such as stock, early twins, late twins and etc. You can also get pressure with it as well now... and you can get "gauge options" too.

Where MP-8 is best utilized as a "stacker" (IMO) to assist other power adders in reaching potential, TST is a primary tuner to do it all. Many people in fact stack TST with MP-8 for best effect.

Now the Smarty and TST stack is awesome-- but that is another thread.

Well the power puck and the mp-8 are both pressure boxes, i hear the mp8 is more aggressive then the powerpuck. The TST box is a little more than the other two. I can do duration, timing and pressure, but won't do pressure as well as the mp8 or so I am told. The TST adds a lot of power, claims of 190+hp! It also needs a lot of supporting mods, trans fuel air etc, to reach those numbers. The TST/mp8 make a great stack when set up properly, the TST is incredibly flexible.

Yes. The puck/predator stack is common here. The MP-8 should do the same thing. FWIW, I have no personal experience stacking/using with Diablo products. This is third hand internet info and you know how reliable that is!

Well that is what I would do... oops, that's what I did do! So that is easy for me to say. You wanted adjustability on the fly so a Smarty doesn't do that. But if you do "Smarty-fy" You can stack with a lot of things as it is very stacking friendly.

just remember that comes at a price of needing supporting mods too!!

Look-- there is a cost/value relationship here and this is just an opinion, but unless you are really looking to bomb your truck out and want that extra HP, you could just keep the predator and not spend the money and stack that with the MP-8 or puck and be very happy with it I'm sure. Otherwise, you are losing the money on selling the Pred. and spending more to get something else and the difference in the overall power levels may not be worth that difference in money spent to you... It is a personal choice and there are lots o' options. Keep reading here on DTR for info.

If you guys are looking for a pressure box you should seriously look at this:
http://www.quadzillapower.com/produc...laraider2.html

It does not come as a pressure ony box but, you can change the tunes online for free and make it a pressure only box.

Now, it also has a built in Rail Pressure gauge which is very beneficial if you are stacking.

It is a bargain to say the least.

I just want to get rid of this predator, something doesnt feel right with it. i downloaded the extreme tune on my new truck yesterday just to play a little bit for the first time with this and every time you would rev it up and it would go back down to an idle it would shake the truck slightly right before it completly idled down. i dont know. it did something to my 03 too. when i took it off it rattled kinda bad when you reved it up so i took it off my new truck today it wasnt even on there 24 hours, i dont wana even take a chance at doin what ever it did to my old truck

Well now that someone has thrown the option of the quad x2 out there, anymore suggestions on what would stack best with the predator, the tst powermax, ts mp-8, or quad x2 (race version)?
