Tried Smarty Half Power (Level 0)

I took my truck to the bodyshop to get a new bed put on (accident over Thanksgiving) so I put the Smarty on level 0 just to be safe. They were going to have the truck for the better part of a day, don't want them hot rodding. I forgot to bring my Smarty with me when I picked the truck up so I had to leave it on 0. I hooked the truck to the trailer with the old bed on it and headed for the interstate. I noticed the difference immediately. The truck wouldn't get out of it's own way, egt's were between 700 to 800 degrees with 3/4 throttle to get to 35mph. I get on the interstate and it was a chore just to hold it at 60mph. Egt's were 825 degrees and boost was 18psi with 3/4 throttle at 60mph! I felt like I had a go kart motor under the hood rather than the mighy Cummins. If you've ever wondered what Smarty level 0 was like, there you go. It's definately not something to keep the truck on for any length of time because the motor sounded like it was working overtime.

Good to know. I will reserve that level for emissions testing.

Yea I tried it a couple months ago...man that was horrible!! Topped out at 45 going up hill and slowing real quick. Had to keep it floored to keep it at 30, as Green Rivers main road is mostly uphill...

Good to know how it performs. We don't have emissions testing here yet but if we do I'll sure use it.

Using the old rule of thumb for 1 psi per 10 hp sounds like this is about 175~180 hp.

This reminded me of when ISBe got a 175hp 350 ftlb low emissions mine rating.

I have a funny With level 0. My brother in law needed to borrow my truck to move some heavy wood and he didn't want to put it in his S10. I so I said sure!! So i set the smarty to zero and said here ya go. Well he moved his wood and when he gave it back he said your a slug!! He said his S10 will run circles around my cummins all day long. So while on a road trip I was towing and truck he came beside me in the S10 gave me the heads up and the cummins on#9 walked away from him. Thought I would share this, I laughed for a long time about that!
