My truck feels the exact same way. The factory tq converter is very sloppy. An upgraded VB and TC will help that feeling....so I hear. I want to go and do mine now....but im holding out and saving funds to build the whole tranny right with billet shafts etc.

tranny

i have had the same problems with my mega cab i had a long talk with atc on this issue and suncoast as well they both seemed to say the same thing the vb is a temp fix it will help the tranny shift harder but the down side is one the stock converter will ballon under high out put loads and start to slip sending metal into the tranny and two the internals of the stock tranny just are not strong enough to hold up over long periods of abuse from a tunner the clutch packs end up getting smoked and in some cases they have seen the input shafts snap killing the whole tranny in a run on dynos. what i did with my mega cab was bought a ats tranny with an ats 5 star and all billet internals my wife has had no problems and its got a warrinte to boot

lock up

i went with the co pilot lock up from ats since i bought there tranny and the guys there said it helps ensure a 100% lock up and no slipping under high load i checked with pdi who did all my motor and turbo mods and they agreed with ats and i trust pdi in the fact that they have told me before i did not need certing parts for my build on my truck so i know they are not out to just sell me parts. i have not had the chance to drive the truck yet since i have been here in iraq but my wife says it shifts better at low speed which is were most of my hunting accoured before in the old tranny hope it helps man
